Earlier this year Jamie McGuire’s hugely popular new adult book Beautiful Disaster was optioned by Warner Bros. As is the trend with many books of late, being optioned doesn’t necessarily guarantee that your movie will be made, however the studio just hired writer Julia Hart to pen the screenplay. She joins Donald De Line, best known for producing The Italian Job, who is set to produce. This is a great sign that the adaptation will continue its progression. The story revolves around Abby Abernathy who leaves behind a sorted past to start over fresh in a new town as a straight-laced college girl. She ends up meeting town bad boy Travis Maddox who makes a tantalizing bet with her: If she loses she must live in his apartment, and if he loses he must abstain from his fun-loving ways for a month. What develops is an explosive passionate relationship between these two beautiful disasters.
