Story Behind the Cover
The incredibly talented Charlie Bowater is the cover artist. I told my publisher I hoped for an illustrated cover, and I envisioned Ailesse and Bastien on a bridge together and each of them holding knives. I gave my publisher a list of my three favorite artists, and Charlie was at the top of that list.
I thought asking for her was just wishful thinking, so it was the best surprise ever when I saw the preliminary cover sketch and learned Charlie was the artist. The finished cover is truly the cover of my dreams!
