My whole world changed when I stepped inside the academy. Nothing is right about this place or the other students in it. Here I am, a mere mortal among gods…or monsters. I still can’t decide which of these warring factions I belong to, if I belong at all. I only know the one thing that unites them is their hatred of me.

Then there’s Jaxon Vega. A vampire with deadly secrets who hasn’t felt anything for a hundred years. But there’s something about him that calls to me, something broken in him that somehow fits with what’s broken in me.

Which could spell death for us all.

Because Jaxon walled himself off for a reason. And now someone wants to wake a sleeping monster, and I’m wondering if I was brought here intentionally—as the bait.

Guest Post

If you woke up as a vampire but only for one hour, what would you do?

First of all, I want to say hi Christy and Kelly and all your fans! Thanks so much for having me on your blog. I follow you on Instagram and I love your feeds so much that it feels like I already know you 🙂

Thanks so much for giving me such a cool topic to write about, because who hasn’t spent at least a little time imagining what they would do with some kind of superpower for a day or an hour? Having spent the last year immersed in the world of CRAVE, and now CRUSH (the sequel), I have certainly wondered, more than a few times, what it would be like to be a vampire for a little while.

If I had one hour to be a vampire, I would totally spend it doing a whole bunch of vampy things. First of all, I would probably find someone who wouldn’t mind me sucking on their neck for a while, because—while I’m not particularly fond of blood in my human form—I’d at least want to see what all the fuss is about. What’s so cool about biting people anyway? Is it as good as all the books (including CRAVE 🙂 ) say it is? I mean, there are a couple scenes where Jaxon turns all vampy, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t wonder what it was like to be Grace in those scenes 😉

I would also fly—or at least “float” like Jaxon can. I mean, how cool would it be to be able to just jump out a window and fly above everything for a while? Especially up in Alaska, where the aurora borealis lights up the night sky in an insanely cool way!

The third thing I would do with my hour is head to the local track and run a few laps, just to see how fast I could go. I’m not much of a runner in real life (dancing and swimming are my preferred methods of exercise) and I would love to feel what it’s like to run faster than anyone else, ever.

And finally, I have a couple super sexy kissing scenes in CRAVE, and I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t love to see what it’s like to kiss someone (or maybe a little more) as a vampire.  All those heightened senses pretty much guarantee a really good time 😉

So that’s my hour as a vampire—a little blood sucking, a little flying, a little running, a little kissing … not a bad way to spend sixty minutes, if I do say so myself 🙂  How about you? If you had an hour to be a vampire (or some other paranormal creature of your choice) what would you do?

About Tracy Wolff

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Tracy Wolff wrote her first short story—something with a rainbow and a prince—in second grade, around the same time she forayed into the wonderful world of girls lit with her first Judy Blume novel. By ten she’d read everything in the young adult and classics sections of her local bookstore, so in desperation her mom started her on romance novels. And from the first page of the first book, Tracy knew she’d found her life-long love. A one-time English professor with over fifty novels to her name, she now devotes most of her time to writing romance and dreaming up heroes. She lives in Austin, Texas, with her family.
