For twenty-one-year-old Sydney, being in love with Kyler isn’t anything new. They’d been best friends ever since he pushed her down on the playground and she made him eat a mud pie. Somewhere over the years, she fell for him and fell hard. The big problem with that? Kyler puts the ‘man’ in man-whore. He’s never stayed with a girl longer than a few nights, and with it being their last year in college, Syd doesn’t want to risk their friendship by declaring her love.

Kyler has always put Syd on a pedestal that was too high for him to reach. To him, she’s perfect and she’s everything. But the feelings he has for her, he’s always hidden away or focused on any other female. After all, Kyler will always be the poor boy from the wrong side of tracks, and Syd will always be the one girl he can never have.

But when they’re stranded together at a posh ski resort due to a massive Nor’easter, there’s nothing stopping their red-hot feelings for each other from coming to the surface. Can their friendship survive the attraction? Better yet, can they survive at all? Because as the snow falls, someone is stalking them, and this ski trip may be a life-changer in more ways than one.

Have you ever picked up a book and thought, “oh I’ll just read a few pages to see what this is about” and then 3 hours later you’ve devoured said book? That was me when I picked up Frigid. My only complaint was with how fast I was able to read this book, because damn it I wanted more! I’ve read a few books of late that feature the storyline of best friends realizing they are soul mates and I have to say of the ones I’ve read this is my personal favorite. There is a concern that with the history, ease and comfort that comes with a couple that already has an established friendship there will be no chemistry, well I am here to say that there was none of that with Kyler and Sydney. Although they have been BFF for years, the chemistry exhibited by these two unwitting soul mates was enough to melt the polar ice caps. I love Jennifer Armentrout’s foray into New Adult under the J. Lynn pen name. As with her best selling YA Luxen series, Frigid is rife with just the right amount of sexual tension, chemistry, and heart. Having this couple snowed in together and then adding in the thriller element with the couple being stalked and harassed really gave this book an added layer of suspense that I wasn’t expecting.

At times, I wanted to shake both characters, because it’s the age old tale where both have been blindly in love with the other but because of fear never spoke up. That’s what made this story so great, the wonderful foundation was there they both just needed something to happen to push them together and yeah being snowed in alone for a few days in a secluded cabin will do it. I will not lie, this book raised my temperature a few degrees while reading it. That is the gift of J. Lynn, she ropes you in with stories that are fiercely romantic and a little bit naughty.

I could not get enough of this couple and was so happy when I found out that the series is continuing. I’m hoping that book two focuses on Sydney’s friend Andrea and Kyler’s friend Tanner. The little bit that was revealed about Tanner has me really intrigued.  If you are a fan of New Adult, I highly recommend you pick up your copy today.

I love all of Jennifer’s books that I have read, so looking forward to the next one. Frigid is one of the best reads for romance between friends.
