Author Interview: Gwenda Bond

Two things I love: Serial Box and Gwenda Bond. While at YallWest, I got to chat with Gwenda about ReMade and her newly announced Serial, Dear Air, plus comics and her incredible activism work. Oh, and her pets because if you’re not following her Instastories, you’re missing out on the pet soap opera.

Dead Air: The Complete Season 1 by Gwenda Bond, Rachel Caine, and Carrie Ryan

Category: New Adult, Mystery
Publication: August 1st, 2018; Serial Box Publishing
Purchase: Serial Box

A murder. A confession. A case closed quick as it opened. Too bad, so sad, what can you do? If you’re Mackenzie Walker, you start digging.

Ever since her cousin died of an overdose, Mackenzie Walker has been obsessed with death. A totally healthy obsession, of course. So healthy that she’s started an amateur investigation into the 18-year-old murder of one of Kentucky’s wealthiest horsewomen. An investigation that she’s broadcasting it as it unfolds on Dead Air, her college radio show.

The death of Peg Graham was solved with the confession of a lovesick employee, but Mackenzie sees mystery everywhere and can’t help but wonder. The thing is, it doesn’t take much digging for her to start finding tantalizing clues, along with Graham’s tantalizing son, Ryan. Together, they are determined to find the truth. Unless it gets them killed. Secrets get buried for a reason, after all.

My first mystery project for adults, Dead Air, written with Carrie Ryan and Rachel Caine, releases in August. In 2019? Stranger Things.
