Blog Tour & Feature: FRTBR with Bloom by Kevin Panetta, with Art by Savanna Ganucheau

Fierce Reads has been throwing a party this month and we are all invited! Today we are joining to talk about Bloom, a story full of slow burn romance and delicious baked goods. We’ve already reviewed Bloom (LOVED!) so we thought we would talk about what we’ve been baking in honor of Ari and Hector! Check them out below and be sure you pick up this gorgeous book (seriously, why haven’t you!?)!

Now that high school is over, Ari is dying to move to the big city with his ultra-hip band—if he can just persuade his dad to let him quit his job at their struggling family bakery. Though he loved working there as a kid, Ari cannot fathom a life wasting away over rising dough and hot ovens. But while interviewing candidates for his replacement, Ari meets Hector, an easygoing guy who loves baking as much as Ari wants to escape it. As they become closer over batches of bread, love is ready to bloom . . . that is, if Ari doesn’t ruin everything.
Writer Kevin Panetta and artist Savanna Ganucheau concoct a delicious recipe of intricately illustrated baking scenes and blushing young love, in which the choices we make can have terrible consequences, but the people who love us can help us grow.

What We’ve Been Baking

With no yeast to be found, we are talking about the treats we’ve baked. Of course, Bloom has an AMAZING sourdough roll recipe at the end that someday I’ll be brave enough to make! Someone bring over their starter and let’s make it happen!

May the 4th Mini Cakes

I got this AMAZING Star Wars mini cake pan and waited until May 4th to make them. The recipe was a little difficult (should have gone with a box) but they were delicious!

The Infamous Doubletree Cookies

Anyone who has been to a conference at the Doubletree knows. These cookies are bomb.com and as soon as this recipe hit, I made it. At 10pm. No photos because…we ate them.
