We start with a character crush. I’ve recently devoured by both books in Cora Carmack’s excellent Rusk University series. While Carson McLain, the heartthrob featured in All Lined Up, had me fanning myself, Silas Moore, gave me a fever. From the minute he first flirted his way across the pages of All Lined Up, I knew he was something special. While physically he’s a force to be reckoned with (that hair, those abs, that grin) it’s his vulnerability, his desire to succeed, and his sweet side, that really drew me to his character. I’ve never been a girl that’s been into jocks. However, Silas, had such an edge to him. He didn’t fit into that cookie cutter, athlete role. He was from the wrong side of the tracks, had family drama, and had quite a temper but through it all his love of the game and desire to do well, elevated him in my eyes. And let’s not forget how absolutely sexy he could be, a few of the love scenes had me blushing from head to toe. In fact, I couldn’t help it I kept seeing Taylor Kitsch in his Friday Night Lights days as Silas. So if you like your male leads, sexy and with a bit of edge I suggest you check out All Broke Down and get infected with the Silas virus.
