Once upon a time, two runners met while training for the Marathon Weekend Dopey Challenge in 2023. That shared passion for running, books, and Disney magic blossomed into a love story worthy of its own fairy tale.
Fast forward to 2025
I proposed to Alyssa during the Marathon Weekend 5K with a Rapunzel-themed surprise, combining our love for books, running, and each other. It was a moment straight out of a storybook.
2026 = 48.6
Now, as we prepare for the 2026 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, we’re taking on the Dopey Challenge once again, four races over four days, each themed to a different literary genre:
– 🪐 A sci-fi 5K hosted by Pluto
– 🕵️♂️ A mysterious 10K led by Chip ‘n Dale
– 💘 A romantic half marathon featuring Donald and Daisy Duck
– 🏰 A fantasy-filled marathon ruled by Mickey and Minnie Mouse
This year’s theme couldn’t be more fitting for us, intertwining our love for books, running, and Disney. And now we need your support!
But this journey is about more than just miles and medals. We’re dedicating our run to support A Running Passion, a nonprofit honoring Coach Will Fulford’s legacy by empowering young athletes in cross-country and track and field. Their mission is to provide education, coaching, and financial assistance to help these athletes overcome barriers and achieve their dreams.
As we celebrate three magical years together and look forward to our Disney Cruise wedding just a week before the challenge (who plans a honeymoon where they have to get up at 2am four days in a row and run 48.6 miles? WE DO!), we’re inviting you to be part of our story.
