A teen girl finds herself lost on a dangerous adventure in this YA thriller by the acclaimed author of The Wicker King and The Weight of the Stars—reimagining Peter Pan for today’s world.
On Wendy Darling’s first night in Chicago, a boy called Peter appears at her window. He’s dizzying, captivating, beautiful—so she agrees to join him for a night on the town.
Wendy thinks they’re heading to a party, but instead they’re soon running in the city’s underground. She makes friends—a punk girl named Tinkerbelle and the lost boys Peter watches over. And she makes enemies—the terrifying Detective Hook, and maybe Peter himself, as his sinister secrets start coming to light. Can Wendy find the courage to survive this night—and make sure everyone else does, too?
Acclaimed author K. Ancrum has re-envisioned Peter Pan with a central twist that will send all your previous memories of J. M. Barrie’s classic permanently off to Neverland.

Peter Pan Retellings: Take Your Pick!
If you love steampunk: Everland by Wendy Spinale. The Everland series is set in a steampunk fantasy world that begins with a Peter Pan retelling and moves into two other retellings with the same world. This series is one of my favs and I highly recommend it for people who are interested in fantasy-light!
If alternative history is your thing: Straight on Till Morning by Liz Braswell. The Twisted Tales series takes the Disney movies we all love and answers a question that changes the story. Straight on Till Morning asks, “What if Wendy first traveled to Neverland… with Captain Hook?” Disney fan or not, this alternative take is worth your time.
If you’re looking to preorder a new story: Darling by K. Ancrum. Peter Pan retellings tend to be fantasy focused and Darling is here to unseat that as a thriller set in the contemporary world. It’s out June 22nd and ready for your preorder!
If you love romance: Lost in the Never Woods by Aiden Thomas. If you’ve been under a rug, you may have missed Aiden Thomas bursting into the YA world with not one but two romantic fantasies. Their latest, Lost in the Never Woods, explores grief in a fantastical contemporary world with a side of swoon. Don’t miss it!
If you’re looking for a middle grade adventure: Peter and the Starcatchers by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. Pirates. PIRATES! Middle grade! This is a whole series that has some of the prettiest covers.
