Feature: Pride 2025 TBR & Giveaway

It’s queer book season. Let’s celebrate.

Pride Month is here, and you know what that means: we’re stocking our shelves with queer stories, crying over fictional characters, and screaming over the slow burns, chaotic crushes, and heartfelt moments that only queer lit delivers.

This year’s BookCrushin Pride TBR is stacked with sapphic leads, nonbinary brilliance, and murder (because balance). Whether you’re into romantic comedies, lyrical horror, or queer road trips with a side of emotional devastation, we’ve got something for you. Check out our Bookshop for even more recs!

And because we love sharing the bookish love, we’re also hosting a giveaway over on IG to help kick off your Pride reads!

Christy’s TBR

I am moderating a queer romance panel in July plus looking forward to meeting several more queer authors at the event so my TBR is stacked with books for that…plus a few others I can’t miss!

  • Because Fat Girl by Lauren Marie Fleming: A tender, powerful story of self-love, fat joy, and queer identity. I am expecting tears.
  • On Her Terms by Amy Spalding: A fierce and funny look at control, intimacy, and queer romance on your own timeline.
  • I Think They Love You by Julian Winters: This has cute written all over it. I’m obsessed already.
  • I’ll Have What He’s Having by Adib Khorram: Queer love and food? I’m in.
  • Devils Like Us by L.T. Thompson: OFMD energy! I’m ready to be emotionally wrecked. TY Bloombury for the finished copy!
  • Murder Land by Carlyn Greenwald: Queer theme parks? I cannot wait to read in one sitting.
  • Say A Little Prayer by Jenna Voris: A queer girl takes on a purity culture summer camp? Yes, yes, a thousand times yes. TY Penguin for the ARC 🙂
  • All Fired Up by M.K. England: A rom-com full of heart, hijinks, and queer rage by a fav? Sounds like my kind of comfort read.
  • Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V.E. Schwab: This one’s spooky, gorgeous, and darkly poetic aka exactly what I want from my queer horror. Releasing June 10th! TY Macmillan audio for the ARC!
  • Nobody in Particular by Sophie Gonzales: A hilarious, heartfelt exploration of gender and identity with Sophie’s signature voice. Already a must read. TY to Wednesday for the ARC!
  • Amelia, If Only by Becky Albertalli: Second-chance sapphic romance with missed connections and all the Albertalli feels. Releasing June 10th!

Kelly’s TBR

I average about 4-5 books a month if I am lucky, I am trying desperately to read more than that, but we shall see, and we all know that I definitely Read Queer All Year! So my TBR is filled with hopefuls and hopefully some inspiration for your TBRs too! Obviously I am trying not to duplicate Christy’s list either…but know that I am excited for like all of those books too!

  • Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V.E. Schwab: I mean are you shocked that this is my top priority and the only book I will repeat from above! V is one of my absolute favorite authors, and toxic lesbian vampires is my eternal mood! Releasing June 10th!
  • Dan in Green Gables by Rey Terciero & Claudia Aguirre: YA graphic novel that is a queer gender flipped and more modern retelling of the classic Anne in Green Gables! Thank you to Penguin Workshop for gifting a finished copy! Releases June 3rd!
  • Coffeeshop in an Alternative Universe by CB Lee: I adore CB’s other books, and I am all for the YA cozy fantasy especially when its queer! Releases July 1st!
  • If We Were a Movie by Zakiya N. Jamal: YA Sapphic rivals to lovers set at a movie theater that needs saving, yes please! Thank you Book Sparks for gifting a finished copy!
  • Call Your Boyfriend by Ashely Woodfolk & Olivia A. Cole: Sapphic YA romance about two girls who work together to get their crush to fall for one of them so they can get HS style revenge. Thank you to Simon Teen for the advance copy! Releases July 1st!
  • Dream On, Ramona Riley by Ashley Herring Blake: I find Ashley’s adult romances to be really good fun, summery beach reads. Thank you to Berkley for gifting a finished copy!
  • The Build-a-Boyfriend Project by Mason Deaver: I have loved every single YA book Mason has released, so I am excited for their ADULT debut! Thank you to Avon Books for the advance copy! Releases Aug 5th!
  • We Can Never Leave by H.E. Edgmon: Contemporary fantasy about monsters and what it means to belong. Thank you to Wednesday Books for the advance copy! Releasing June 10th!
  • Amplitudes: Stories of Queer and Trans Futurity ed. by Lee Mandelo: 22 speculative short stories explore the vast potentialities of our queer and trans futures.
  • The Greatest Thing by SW Searle: I had to add in one of the graphic novels I was given during my medical recovery that I hadn’t gotten to yet! Thank you @BookChelle for spoiling me!
  • In Case You Read This by Edward Underhill: YA Trans rom-com about accepting yourself and looking for that one that may have gotten away!
  • If We Survive This by Racquel Marie: Three Words: Queer, Dystopian, Zombies. That’s it, all you need to add this one to your TBR! Thank you Fierce Reads for gifting a finished copy! Releases June 17th!
  • The Lavender Blade by E.L. Deards: Finally a queer romantasy, the hottest genre these days, but this one releases on July 8th, so put it on your Read Queer All Year TBRs! Thank you to Books Forward for the advance copy!
