I loved this book! It is the fast-paced follow-up to Kira Adams’ Into the Darkness, a book about a government issued virus gone wrong. This sequel continues the journey of Phoenix, Cullen, Ike, and the other supporting characters as they battle the biters and attempt to not only survive, but change their circumstances.

This book is even better than its predecessor, and I loved it because we really get a deeper sense of who Cullen and Ike are. Into the Darkness is really Phoenix’s story, but Emerging from Darkness feels like Cullen and Ike’s story. The characters have been more developed, further fleshed out, and they are enjoyable characters. I really felt a connection with them. The action is non-stop and believable. I can’t wait for the next installment!
