Feature: ARC August 2017 – Goals & Giveaway
ARC August is almost upon us! ARC August is hosted by Read.Sleep.Repeat to help motivate bloggers to tackle their ARC piles. Click that link and join in the fun! This will be my second time participating in ARC August, back in 2015 we joined in the fun for the first time, and this year I decided I could use the motivation again. This fall has so many releases and I have so many ARCs to read! So I am going to make myself accountable to you all by making a goals post and doing weekly updates each Sunday in August. The final post will be actually in September but you get where I am coming from!
I will also take all the comments from all the ARC August 2017 posts and pick a few random winners, to win some ARCs from my shelf! So please keep me motivated in the comments!
Rules from Read.Sleep.Repeat:
- Any Advanced Reading Copy counts as part of this reading challenge; your backlist books count
- No blog necessary to participate, but you’ll need to include some form of social media as part of your sign up
- Use the #ARCAugust on social media to check-in
Twitter Chat
We will be hosting TWO twitter chats one on August 7th and one August 28th. Both chats will start at 8pm EST and of course we’ll be using our #ARCAugust tag.
Interviews/Giveaways
We will be hosting a few authors for interviews and giveaways so make sure to check back our blog regularly for that! Of course, we’ll be tweeting about all of it so make sure to follow the #ARCAugust tag.
Special Note From Octavia
Remember, ARC August has always been about having fun first and finishing ARCs second. Remember this as you tackle your piles, and use the tag to keep each other motivated. Unlike most years, this ARC August I’ll be sitting on the sidelines for the most part. I haven’t requested or received an ARC in ages! But this just means I’ll have more time this year to focus on YOU! So be prepared for lots of caps in your timelines and an unrelenting amount of cheering.
Goals:
So I am going to be conservative and start my goal with only 6 ARCs however I have about 50 more I need to read! 🙂 I want to be successful and not overwhelm myself in making unrealistic goals, since these last few months I have had a hard time motivating myself to read at all!
1. The Invasion (The Union #4) by T.H. Hernandez
2. Wonder Woman: Warbringer (DC Icons #1) by Leigh Bardugo
3. A Map for Wrecked Girls by Jessica Taylor
4. That Inevitable Victorian Thing by E.K. Johnston
5. Moxie by Jennifer Mathieu
6. Warcross by Marie Lu
I’m participating, too. This will be my first time participating in a challenge as I just started in April. ?
I didn’t know we had to create a post to introduce the challenge. Do I still have time? ?
Welcome to blogging & to joining in fun challenges! I definitely think you have time! I know a lot of people will do a GOALS post on August 1st, but I just wanted to put my goals up now, instead of having an promo post and a separate goals post! There aren’t many rules, so you will be fine!
Thank you for answering! I’m happy I joined the blogging community ?✌
I am pretty sure once you have a blog post about it you can edit your linky to go directly to your goals post. I too am happy you joined blogging community, we all love books and thats the most important!
