Adam POV

Ali laughs. Her gaze feels like sunshine on my back, but I don’t turn around. I pull my wetsuit up to my waist, adjusting myself so I’m comfortable. The cool Neoprene layer feels familiar and my body responds, my heart thumping hard, anticipation rushing through my veins. The prospect of the ocean always does this to me. This has nothing to do with the girl behind me.

“Adam?”

Ali’s voice is close. Turning, I almost bump into her.

Her wetsuit is all the way on, which is good. And terrible.

“What’s up?” I ask.

She smells like suntan oil and peaches. This close, I see that her cheeks are turning slightly pink from the sun. With her hair pulled back, no makeup, and the wetsuit covering her completely, she looks better than she has all week at the office. Better than she did in the Catwoman costume. There’s something powerful about her now. The way her slender legs are planted firmly on the swaying boat, like she’s not trying at all. She’s at home on the water. This from an admitted equestrian. I can only imagine what she’s like with her horses.

“Sorry, but . . .” She smiles and points at her back. “My zipper’s jammed.” She turns around and pulls her ponytail up. “Can you help me out?”

“Sure. You want this on, right? Just want to be sure.”

I can’t see her face, but I know she’s smiling. “Yes. On please.”

I allow myself a moment to enjoy the way she looks right in front of me. Then I take the zipper leash, letting my knuckles drift over her back, just above the knot of her bikini.

If I weren’t completely focused on her, I’d have missed the way she curls slightly toward me.

Focus, Blackwood. Zip the wetsuit up.

I devoured Boomerang and immediately sought out the follow-up companion Rebound…and I ate this novel up too! Wow, it’s hard to tell you how much I enjoyed a book without sounding so repetitive –but I LOVED these books! Rebound is a fun, witty and emotional romantic novel. Not the ‘ugly cry’ emotion but the ‘damn you why is everyone so afraid of love’ type of emotion.

So I knew Adam was the real deal–total book boyfriend material from the get go in book 1, but the opening scene between him and Alison was seriously so HOT I needed a fan! I mean he is a rich, brooding, surfer hunk wrapped up in mystery and I was drawn to him and everything about him worked me into a frenzy. Like give me a real life Blackwood and I will give you my first born…or whatever.

Alison was another story. I wasn’t a fan of hers from the word 1…but damn did I feel for her by mid-book. I wanted her to have her HEA too and I really truly could see she was a decent, caring, human being. Plus she loves down and out horses and rehabs them. Nothing is more honorable to me than an animal lover who will take on the hard cases and give them love and a better life. Especially someone who has a ton of money and never goes a day without wanting anything in life…except those things money can’t buy–like respect, decency and love.

This book had a lot to be jealous of, hot girls, hot guys, hot cars, swanky business life, money, boats, vacations…but one last thing made me the most envious and left me crying with thoughts of–why can’t I?–have a kick ass Halloween party? HA! No seriously…still the most stand out part of this book for me! Says a lot about my personality than it does about the book. But seriously super fun times.

This series has become one of my favorite lighthearted but still emotional new adult reads with stellar writing and plentiful plot! Plus serious sexual tension–which is a must for me– with each forbidden romance so far & I can barely wait for the final book, BOUNCE to come out this fall! I could see the Grey Blackwood breakdown & rebound coming from a mile away! Excited for rocker boy Grey, but sad that we don’t get a story about Cookie. That girl needs to find her match! Please write her book, I am begging here!!
