She will reign.
As princess of the island kingdom Visidia, Amora Montara has spent her entire life training to be High Animancer—the master of souls. The rest of the realm can choose their magic, but for Amora, it’s never been a choice. To secure her place as heir to the throne, she must prove her mastery of the monarchy’s dangerous soul magic.
When her demonstration goes awry, Amora is forced to flee. She strikes a deal with Bastian, a mysterious pirate: he’ll help her prove she’s fit to rule, if she’ll help him reclaim his stolen magic.
But sailing the kingdom holds more wonder—and more peril—than Amora anticipated. A destructive new magic is on the rise, and if Amora is to conquer it, she’ll need to face legendary monsters, cross paths with vengeful mermaids, and deal with a stow-away she never expected… or risk the fate of Visidia and lose the crown forever.
I am the right choice. The only choice. And I will protect my kingdom.
Set in a kingdom where danger lurks beneath the sea, mermaids seek vengeance with song, and magic is a choice, Adalyn Grace’s All the Stars and Teeth is a thrilling fantasy for fans of Stephanie Garber’s Caraval and Sarah J. Maas’s Throne of Glass series.

Interview
1. If you were a pirate, what would you pack for your journey at sea?
Ooooh, do I have a whole ship with me? Because in that case, I’d definitely pack some snacks and some books to pass the time. Maybe a fishing pole in case I get stranded. Sun screen. An animal side kick. Towels. Water. A sword and a dagger. A pistol. Some comfortable pillows and blankets . . . I’m a spoiled pirate. Bastian and I would get along, well.
2. If you could pick characters from any other book to come support your characters, who would you pick & why?
Zélie from Children of Blood and Bone is so ruthless with her goals, and so powerful that she’d be one of my first choices (though Amora would request that I bring Röen, too. You know, purely for tactical purposes). I also think Amora and Aelin from the Throne of Glass series would get along well, and that together they would all take over the entire world. I also think Bastian and Ransom (Blood Heir) would make such a great duo of quick-tongued con men.
3. What princesses or female characters did you look up to when you were a kid?
I’m going to go ahead and count the Sailor Scouts, because I was obsessed and Usagi is a moon princess! My favorite was Sailor Moon (especially manga version). I love shows and books with group dynamics, and this is the first I remember that was pretty much all female identifying characters kicking butt.
4. What has been the highlight of your debut year?
Two things have really stood out so far:
1) Getting to see all the good things happen to fellow debut friends, and see them launching their words and stories into the world.
2) Talking to readers! Support from readers has been beyond anything I ever anticipated, and I’ve been so blown away and so grateful. I’ve loved talked to everyone who is excited to read, or who has read an early copy. I can’t wait until the book is actually out so we can actually talk about it!
5. What books would you recommend to your readers?
Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi
Woven in Moonlight by Isabel Ibañez
Fable by Adrienne Young
Blood Heir by Amélie Wen Zhao
Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte
Red, White, and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
I’m also very excited for Namina Forna’s The Gilded Ones, Rocky Callen’s A Breath Too Late, Liz Lawson’s The Lucky Ones, Chloe Gong’s These Violent Delights, and Janella Angeles’ Where Dreams Descend among others!
Thanks so much Adalyn, and thank you for increasing all our TBRs after we finish All the Stars and Teeth!
