Gargoyle Addiction is a creative and fun paranormal romance. Who hasn’t crushed deeply on a book character so much that you dream about them? Well in Gargoyle Addiction, that is exactly what happens plus more! Damn *I wish* I had the ability to do more than just dream about some of the amazing book crushes I have, right!
The characters and world development were dark, deep and fantastic. The book was a fast paced, page turner that I didn’t want to stop reading so I could find out what was going to become of Kann & Karla! Kann was a typical alpha male, who struggled with this new turn of events that had him feeling things and acting in a way that was totally different from his norm. Karla also struggles with her new discovery of power and the existence of Otherworlds. She has been shutting out anything romantic her whole adult life and now she can’t seem to fight her desires even though she does continue to fight, but now it’s to discover motives and to stay alive in a world that makes death too common. Kann & Karla butt heads a lot but that doesn’t stop their crazed attraction and addiction to each other!
This book has some mature scenes and some behavior that I wouldn’t ever approve of, but a book, especially a paranormal one is supposed to push the boundaries of normality and help the reader explore some possibly unknown interests or desires. Basically, I am not turned on by machismo but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a lot of ladies out there who are…and books still take us away into a world where anything is possible as long as our minds can be open to read and explore. Which is exactly what the underlying theme of this book is, self discovery and what would we do for those we love.
