Cover Crush: Ransacker (Beserker #2) by Emmy Laybourne
Ransacker is the final book in the Berserker duology by Emmy Laybourne. I love the spooky feel of this cover and this series. With the blending of the historical, western aspect of these novels and the fantastical paranormal elements all linked into norse mythology is really intriguing. While we still get to revisit the other siblings, as well as more Hanne and Owen from the first book, this is Sissel’s story. I am looking forward to reading more about Sissel and her powers and how her life is about to become even more complicated, with trickery, boys, greed, and of course her rare powers. Ransacker is releasing on Janurary 29th, so there is no better time to read Beserker to be prepared for the final chapter in this duology. Be sure to add them to your TBR!

Rare powers. Precious metals. Deadly greed.
Sissel Hemstad and her siblings have been living peacefully in a small town in Montana, trying to blend-in and escape the violent events that haunt them, but they’ve all been tricked -- James Peavy, the handsome young man courting Sissel is secretly a Pinkerton spy.
The Hemstads possess supernatural powers bestowed upon their family by the ancient Norse gods. Now Sissel, the youngest at 16, discovers her gift: she is a Ransacker. She can find gold and other precious metals and pull them to her. Hers is an awesome and dangerous gift.
If James discovers her secret, he will undoubtedly report back to his boss, the ruthless Baron Fjelstad who wants desperately to control the Hemstads. But James is not the only person interested in Sissel. She’s also caught the attention of a local mine owner, Isaiah McKray. He is convinced Sissel has a lucky touch when it comes to finding gold.
Sissel is torn between the two men, both determined to have her secrets. With betrayal lurking around every corner, Sissel must tread carefully. Harnessing her powers could summon great fortune… or doom them all.
I love Emmy’s books. The covers of this series are a couple of my all time favs.
They are unique covers and I hope more people discover this series!
I definitely want to read this duology too!

When I was young I read more about the Greek and Roman gods, and not so much about the Norse ones. It sounds cool in this book that there are supernatural powers given by the Norse gods!
OMG WHERE HAS THIS BEEN MY ENTIRE LIFE??? I absolutely love Norse mythology and love historical fiction even more! This sounds so amazing I’m definitely going to read it!!
This cover is amazing with so much detail. My daughter is an artist and would appreciate the symbolism in the illustration.
