Feature: First Lines Fridays – March 11th, 2016
Happy First Lines Fridays (even if it is a bit late!) This week, I am pulling the first line from one of my favorite YA series. Are you ready?
I couldn’t escape the worst night of my life.
This is the first line to Ignited, by Desni Dantone. This is the story of 17-year-old Kris, who discovers she has super powers when she is rescued by a handsome mystery man—the same man who has been saving her throughout her life. I fell in love with this book and its unique take on powers and mythology. I particularly fell in love with Alec, the bad boy with a tender heart and snarky grin.
This week, Desni released Avenging Heart, the final book in this wonderful series. Let me just tell you, it is was the perfect conclusion. I couldn’t have asked for a better ending—and beginning—for these characters. Avenging Heart is full of twists, turns, action, and steam, just as the rest of the books in this series.
