First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines? If you want to join the meme be sure to check out Wandering Words, and here are her rules below.

“You’re late.”
Okay, so that’s a little vague, and could be any book, right? But in this case, it’s the very first line from Relentless by Karen Lynch. If you haven’t read this series yet, what are you waiting for? It’s one of the penultimate YA paranormal series, in my humble opinion (and I think in Kelly’s, too), and it follows Sara Grey through a world of trolls, vampires, and smokin’ hot warriors. Speaking of which, Karen is getting ready to release Warrior on October 25th; this book is the retelling of the entire trilogy through Nikolas’ point of view. Swoon!
