Spoiler-Free Review:

[book rating=5.0/5.0]

Bound, the newest novel by A.M. Hudson, is a fun, fast-paced novel standalone novel that tells the story of Elora, a snarky twenty-something living her life as a café worker on the beaches of Australia. Elora has always been able to commune with spirits and, when she can, she helps them find peace in their afterlife. Unbeknownst to Elora, she has been sent to Australia by her parents to help protect her from the world of magic – and vampires.

Bound is a the first book of a new standalone trilogy from A.M. Hudson and while it features familiar characters from the Dark Secrets series, you don’t have to have read those books in order to enjoy Bound. I myself just finished the first Dark Secrets book and had no problem following this storyline in Bound. I actually dove right into this book and loved it. Elora is spunky and strong, and she is well-balanced by an interesting cast of supporting characters. I was sucked into the story and read it almost straight through. I laughed out loud at several scenes and, many times throughout I found myself wanting to move to Australia to bus tables and lounge on the beach during my days off. I’m already eagerly anticipating the sequel!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
