September is a Month For Sequels!

Crushed on by Yadie, on August 31, 2012, in Bookclub selections of the month, New Releases / 2 Comments

Sequels sequels sequels! (ok, so that would be a trilogy, but you get my enthusiasm, right?) September is going to be a very exciting month for sequels. Two books we read last year both have sequels that we have been anticipating since we first read Enclave and Anna Dressed in Blood. If you haven’t read them yet please check them out and warning, the descriptions below do have spoilers if you haven’t read the first installments! What sequels are you looking forward to? Post in the comments.

Read Enclave, the first in this exciting story!
Read how Anna’s story began in Anna Dressed in Blood!

Outpost (Razorland #2) by Ann Aguirre

Deuce’s whole world has changed. Down below, she was considered an adult. Now, topside in a town called Salvation, she’s a brat in need of training in the eyes of the townsfolk. She doesn’t fit in with the other girls: Deuce only knows how to fight.

To make matters worse, her Hunter partner, Fade, keeps Deuce at a distance. Her feelings for Fade haven’t changed, but he seems not to want her around anymore. Confused and lonely, she starts looking for a way out.

Deuce signs up to serve in the summer patrols—those who make sure the planters can work the fields without danger. It should be routine, but things have been changing on the surface, just as they did below ground. The Freaks have grown smarter. They’re watching. Waiting. Planning. The monsters don’t intend to let Salvation survive, and it may take a girl like Deuce to turn back the tide.

Girl of Nightmares (Anna #2) by Kendare Blake

It’s been months since the ghost of Anna Korlov opened a door to Hell in her basement and disappeared into it, but ghost-hunter Cas Lowood can’t move on.

His friends remind him that Anna sacrificed herself so that Cas could live—not walk around half dead. He knows they’re right, but in Cas’s eyes, no living girl he meets can compare to the dead girl he fell in love with.

Now he’s seeing Anna everywhere: sometimes when he’s asleep and sometimes in waking nightmares. But something is very wrong…these aren’t just daydreams. Anna seems tortured, torn apart in new and ever more gruesome ways every time she appears.

Cas doesn’t know what happened to Anna when she disappeared into Hell, but he knows she doesn’t deserve whatever is happening to her now. Anna saved Cas more than once, and it’s time for him to return the favor.
