When all hope is gone, how do you survive?
Before the war, Eden’s life was easy—air conditioning, ice cream, long days at the beach. Then the revolution happened, and everything changed.
Now a powerful group called the Wolfpack controls the earth and its resources. Eden has lost everything to them. They killed her family and her friends, destroyed her home, and imprisoned her. But Eden refuses to die by their hands. She knows the coordinates to the only neutral ground left in the world, a place called Sanctuary Island, and she is desperate to escape to its shores.
Eden finally reaches the island and meets others resistant to the Wolves—but the solace is short-lived when one of Eden’s new friends goes missing. Braving the jungle in search of their lost ally, they quickly discover Sanctuary is filled with lethal traps and an enemy they never expected.
This island might be deadlier than the world Eden left behind, but surviving it is the only thing that stands between her and freedom.
Deserted but not Illiterate: Books I Would Want on a Deserted Island
So these books are not helpful for survival in the literal sense, but I sure think they will help my mental state from breaking completely. Since not having my kindle available due to you know, electricity…these would be the books I would carry with me or possibly just be the ones I replay in my mind to entertain myself. In no particular order:
- The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins – because it could always be worse, right?
- Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo – because I want to be whisked away to a world of magic!
- A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas – well it’s a long book and hours of swooning over Rhys would help my mind escape…
- Boy Robot by Simon Curtis – full of action, mystery, and enough entertainment to make me cringe and cry!
- The Fever series by Karen Marie Moning – ok, ok I know its a big series…but but how can I pick just one book?! If I must narrow it down, I would pick Dreamfever…or Shadowfever. Oh damnit I can’t pick just one!!
- Geekerella by Ashley Poston – when you just need all the sugar and sweetness of a romance that woos you the entire time, plus it would be a wonderful, albeit sad reminder of what my life was like before I was stranded.
- Settling the Score by R.S. Grey – this is such an amazing sports romance set around the Summer Olympic games and it was sizzling hot!
- Strong Signal by Megan Erickson & Santino Hassell – this is one of those smoking hot romances that just wows me and I could see myself re-reading this one a bunch of times when I needed some sexy escape. Plus I need more diverse books on my list and I wish I had found a great lesbian romance I would want to read over & over…but alas, not yet.
- The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton – last but not least, the most re-read book on my shelf and I of course know I would also want to read this one over and over.
