Publication: October 4th, 2016; EntangledTeen

Sixteen-year-old Jessa Stone is the most valuable citizen in Eden City. Her psychic abilities could lead to significant scientific discoveries, if only she’d let TechRA study her. But ten years ago, the scientists kidnapped and experimented on her, leading to severe ramifications for her sister, Callie. She’d much rather break into their labs and sabotage their research—starting with Tanner Callahan, budding scientist and the boy she loathes most at school.

The past isn’t what she assumed, though—and neither is Tanner. He’s not the arrogant jerk she thought he was. And his research opens the door to the possibility that Jessa can rectify a fatal mistake made ten years earlier. She’ll do anything to change the past and save her sister—even if it means teaming up with the enemy she swore to defeat.

Spoiler-Free* Review:

[book rating=5/5]
“I can’t shake the feeling we’re meant to be in each other’s lives.”

*Minor spoilers for book 1 may be present.

Wow. Holy Fates, I loved this book! This was a very successful sequel. After the crazy, cliff-hanger ending of Forget Tomorrow, I had some ideas on how this sequel would pan out. I was so very wrong, and I am so glad I was! I was not prepared for a jump in time of 10 years and basically a whole different set of characters, and definitely a different narrator. AND I couldn’t be more thrilled with how it played out! It was so much more than I could have ever wanted & expected. It is going to be so hard to review this book without spoilers, but I promise this will be spoiler-free.

Jessa has grown up in the shadow of her sister Callie who changed the Fates of many citizens of North Amerie. Some people are not happy with Future Memories, and no one is more affected than Chairwoman Dresden, the head of FuMa, the agency that controls the Future Memory delivery. Dresden will stop at nothing to achieve her goals, even manipulating the citizens and scientists. But Callie made immense sacrifices to try and stop Dresden’s evil ideals when it came to future memories and Jessa will do whatever it takes to help achieve Callie’s goals.

Tanner Callahan has been fated to be the most prominent scientist of all time and he has the ego to match. Jessa hates Tanner (and most scientists) and will do anything to sabotage his attempts to study Future Memory. Tanner seems to keep crossing paths with Jessa and he is starting to infiltrate Jessa’s thoughts. There are some seriously steamy and devastating anticipation between these two characters. Where we had such sweet and endearing teenage love in Forget TomorrowRemember Yesterday is very much an enemies to lovers trope, which is my favorite kind of romance! I have to say that this dynamic definitely solidified this sequel as better than the first book, and that doesn’t happen often. Tanner has such a cocky smirk that I adore, and Jessa is a force to compete with and honestly only someone like Tanner could grab ahold of her adventurous heart.

So much is happening, and we get a lot of answers from Forget Tomorrow, but we also are left with a slew more in this crazy, twisting, time jumping story. I am thrilled that we get a third book, Seize Today, as I do not want to leave this amazing futuristic world, but waiting another year is going to be so hard!

This sequel is a solid 5 stars, while book 1 was only 4 stars for me. Pintip Dunn’s writing technique definitely improves with this book and I loved the twists and turns. This is an immersive and fast read. You will not want to put this book or this series down. Also, be prepared for another big cliffhanger. Again, just like in book 1, some of these dystopian/sci-fi themes have been explored a bunch previously, but I absolutely loved the story she is weaving and I implore you to read this series. I feel like I cannot properly review this book, because I kept having to delete every damn spoiler, but this is a really fun and thrilling story!

Imagine a world where your destiny has already been decided…by your future self.

It’s Callie’s seventeenth birthday and, like everyone else, she’s eagerly awaiting her vision―a memory sent back in time to sculpt each citizen into the person they’re meant to be. A world-class swimmer. A renowned scientist.

Or in Callie’s case, a criminal.

In her vision, she sees herself murdering her gifted younger sister. Before she can process what it means, Callie is arrested and placed in Limbo―a prison for those destined to break the law. With the help of her childhood crush, Logan, a boy she hasn’t spoken to in five years, she escapes the hellish prison.

But on the run from her future, as well as the government, Callie sets in motion a chain of events that she hopes will change her fate. If not, she must figure out how to protect her sister from the biggest threat of all.
