Books on Our Radar: Stranger Things: Darkness on the Edge of Town by Adam Christopher
As I wrote my review for Gwenda Bond’s Stranger Things: Suspicious Minds, all I could think about was how awesome it’s going to be as this world builds out. We have a behind-the-scenes book in Stranger Things: World’s Turned Upside Down and Eleven’s birth story in Suspicious Minds – all I wanted next was more back story on Jim Hopper. I’ve been curious about him since the beginning, a slightly broken, slightly jaded, slightly hardened Sheriff who clearly has been through some stuff. Enter Darkness on the Edge of Town, Hopper’s backstory set in 1977.
The charm of Stranger Things partially comes from the setting and worldbuilding. I am so excited to see what Adam Christopher does with 1977, an era I haven’t spent much time in. Dropping Hopper right in the middle of NYC sounds like the perfect way to introduce the audience to the ins and outs of his backstory. Add this one to your TBR now!
YAAAASS I am definitely all in for the Hopper backstory!
