Event Recap: SDCC & TV/Movies

Fall TV was in full swing at SDCC, with activations for popular and upcoming shows, panels for returning and revival shows, and signings (which Kelly attended three!). Check it out below and find your new fav fall TV show!

Carnival Row, The Boys, & The Expanse – An Experience

Streaming is the new cable and we are here for it because BINGE WATCHING. Amazon Prime Video was kind to invite into the activations on preview day. We had the chance to experience the shows and jump into the action. Check it out below and take a peek at the trailers so you can get your fall viewing in order!

P.S. Do not wear a superhero outfit to a simulation where superheroes are the enemy. I have regrets.

Carnival Row

With a serial killer loose on Carnival Row, and a government that turns a blind eye to the deaths of its lower class citizens, Rycroft Philostrate, a war-hardened investigator, is the only person willing to stop the murders and maintain the fragile peace. But when Vignette Stonemoss, a faerie refugee, turns up in the Burgue, she forces Philo to reckon with a past he’s tried to forget.

The Boys

THE BOYS is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about “The Seven,” and their formidable Vought backing.

The Expanse

The disappearance of rich-girl-turned-political-activist Julie Mao links the lives of Ceres detective Joe Miller (Thomas Jane), accidental ship captain James Holden (Steven Strait) and U.N. politician Chrisjen Avasarala (Shohreh Aghdashloo). Amidst political tension between Earth, Mars and the Belt, they unravel the single greatest conspiracy of all time.

She-Ra & the Princesses of Power: Season 3

Around these parts, we stan Noelle Stevenson. So combine that with a badass warrior princess and there’s NO BETTER SHOW than She-Ra on Netflix. Ugh, I love it so much. The panel gave us insight into season 3, which is out now (and I’ve already watched – bring tissues!).

Supernatural – The Final Panel

So the Supernatural panel was pretty much just a sob fest. But first, Misha, Osric, Rachel, and Alaina all came into the very beginning of the Hall H lines outside and passed out #SPNfamilyvalues cookies (we were just a row over, so no cookies for us, but we got to see them & that counts!).

We had Rob & Dick cracking jokes and not taking any blame for what ‘god’ was doing all those years. There was a video they shared that summed up a lot of memorable moments of the past 14 years. We had our boys Jensen and Jared trying to keep it together on the panel. While all the fans quietly sobbed in their seats. The mood was somber to say the least, but it ended with one of the 4 people who asked questions winning a replica of Baby, and I never was so jealous in my life. Like seriously.

Detective Pikachu – Now Available on Blu-Ray

YALL I cried during this movie, no joke. I did not go into a Pikachu movie expecting the feels but here we are. I couldn’t resist dragging Kelly to the activation!

Enter the world of Pokemon here

Kelly here: I was lucky girl to have won exclusive signings for Westworld 2020 and IT Chapter 2, but I also managed to find a pop up charity signing with Katee Sackoff and I am pretty sure my wife has been mad at me ever since.
