In the irresistibly sexy series from #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout, two free spirits find their lives changed by a one-night stand…
Some things you just believe in, even if you’ve never experienced them. For Stephanie, that list includes love. It’s out there. Somewhere. Eventually. Meanwhile she’s got her job at the mixed martial arts training center and hot flings with gorgeous, temporary guys like Nick. Then a secret brings them closer, opening Steph’s eyes to a future she never knew she wanted—until tragedy rips it away.
Nick’s self-assured surface shields a past no one needs to know about. His mind-blowing connection with Steph changes all that. As fast as he’s knocking down the walls that have kept him commitment-free, she’s building them up again, determined to keep the hurt—and Nick—out. But he can’t walk away. Not when she’s the only one who’s ever made him wish for forever…
#ForeverMoments
I have many many #ForeverMoments in my life and most of them include my best friend of 20 years, my co-blogger and all around, hands down my favorite person, Shannon. One of these #forevermoments that stands out occurred more recently. My ride or die, best friend for life, decided move to the opposite coast on me. So we decided we would kick off that new chapter of our lives with our own adventure and finished off her move by driving cross-country with her two dogs. We had many amazing moments on this trip, including visiting the Grand Canyon, singing the whole way there, being tourists on Rt. 66, but it’s always the unexpected moments that end up being very impressionable.
Shannon and I were out walking her dogs one evening, outside the motel and it’s dark and it’s late and we are in the middle of nowhere. Then the pitch black sky lights up with a huge blazing fireball. At first it looked like a meteor falling from space and burning up but then it keeps getting bigger and bigger as it flares into a massive fireball. I of course think ‘apocalypse’ meanwhile Shannon worries about alien invasions (I blame JLA!). But as fast as it came tearing across the sky it did burn up and ‘poof’ disappeared. It was so fast we couldn’t get out our phones let alone use the camera to record this celestial event.
But it was mesmerizing; I have never seen something like that with my own two eyes that wasn’t on TV or in a movie. Just something about breaking through the atmosphere and bursting into flames made the world feel just a tad bit vast. There is so much out there, many universes but I also had a Fievel moment and I know that while Shannon will be living in California, we would still be under the same stars. We would still be best friends, no matter the expanse of sky or land between us. Our friendship has endured more hardships than a few thousand miles could pose. Plus, now I have a built in reason to take vacation to beautiful, sunny California at least once a year! So Shannon is my BFF that I plan to keep forever with me #ForeverMoments.

My forever, was when I told my boyfriend that I didn’t want to see him anymore. I mistook his shyness as not caring. The next morning, I awoke to a note on my door, and flowers, that said “I love You.” We have been together ever since.
Wow! I think you and Shannon are two very lucky people. I loved reading about your road trip adventure.
I’ve just had the opposite experience in a sense. My oldest friend – I guess I can no longer label her my bestie – decided to check out of our friendship in May. We’d been friends since 10th grade at her initiation and managed to stay in touch regularly even long distance through my moves to MO, England, France, CO, HI, back to our home state of TX, and then the first 3.5 years of my move to LA.
But now she prefers not to talk on the phone or use FB messenger because all the people the she is close to she sees in person she said. Fortunately for me, I found really awesome book buddies on Facebook to fill that void. LA is a challenging city to develop close in person friendships. There is something called being geographically undesirable that is a real thing thanks to LA traffic, no joke!
So although I have new friends here, none would be considered truly close friends. I have none that I would consider do or die friends at all. Honestly, all of my #ForeverMoments are centered around my book buddies, some of whom I have never met, some I have like Kelly. We share more than book chatter and our love of fangirling. I sincerely can’t imagine my future without my closest book buddies in my life. I ♥ you, Kelly!
Livia!! There are so many emotions running around in my brain right now! Like first of all follow Elsa’s advice and let it go. We don’t got time for friends who don’t have time for us! Secondly, I adore my book friends so much! Like people who really get me! You know what it is like to be obsessed with stories and the drive to just want to be wrapped up in books and talking books and living books (oh wait…well some fantasies do come true? Right?!) lol
I am so thankful to be able to call you a friend! <3
Wait, is that Elsa ‘let it go’ comment from Frozen? Ha, love it!!! I just made the connection since I never saw the Frozen movie but have heard the inescapable song. The Frozen characters have also been on the Once Upon A Time tv show.
And yes, I have mostly let Shani go. I think about how she gave up as many of my other buddies have and wondered what is it about ME that people don’t want to stay in close contact with me? The answer I think is that they didn’t share any of my passions with me (books, tv shows, and movies). But who knows?
I’m happy to report that I’ve stayed strong and not reached out to Shani again after my last attempt went unanswered in May.
I, too, am glad to count you among my book posse of friends. I ♥ you and our virtual chats more than I can ever expressed! XO
Livia! I went through the same thing when I moved out West. It was so hard to leave my BFF Kelly and family back East. I got lucky that I ended up meeting some great people though my job but they could never fill the void that Kelly does. If you ever come to San Diego, let’s hang out! I am always up for gabbing with some fellow book nerds! And Kelly will be here in a few weeks 🙂
Shannon, one of these days I have to make it to ComiCon. We should definitely hang out then and gab about books face-to-face. I’m glad you found a good group of friends to socialize with locally to keep you entertained in between Kelly’s visits. And you two doing a blog together is just the COOLEST thing ever IMO! =)
I love this moment! We’ve had so many in over 20 years of friendship but this weird random, perfect moment in the middle of shitty Arkansas with two rambunctious dogs and flayed nerves and it really just made me step back and realize how small we are in the grand scheme of things and that ultimately shit was gonna be ok!
So happy you picked this moment. I am #forever grateful we had that awesome trip
XO
