Here is the first line:
The secretary fumbled through the stacks of papers on her desk, searching for my schedule.
The book is The Prophecy of Shadows (Elementals #1), a YA Greek mythology novel written by Michelle Madow. It focuses on Nicole, a high school student who moves to a new town and learns that she is a witch with elemental powers. I’m about halfway through the book and it’s been really engaging, and I can’t wait to see what happens.
