Reality is only an illusion.
Except for those who can control it…

Worst. Birthday. Ever.

My first boyfriend dumped me – happy birthday, Josie!- my dad is who knows where, I have some weird virus that makes me want to hurl, and now my ex is licking another girl’s tonsils. Oh, and I’m officially the same age as my brother was when he died. Yeah, today is about as fun-filled as the swamps of Dagobah. But then weird things start happening…

Like I make something materialize just by thinking about it.

When hot badass Reid Wentworth shows up on a motorcycle, everything changes. Like, everything. Who I am. My family. What really happened to my brother. Existence. I am Oculi, and I have the ability to change reality with my thoughts. Now Reid, in all his hotness, is charged with guiding and protecting me as I begin learning how to bend reality. And he’s the only thing standing between me and the secret organization that wants me dead…add-to-goodreads-button

 Spoiler-Free Review:

[book rating=4.5/5.0]

Anomaly is absolutely, hands down the most page-turning book I’ve read all year. At no point did I want to stop reading this book! I forced myself to take 5 minutes to scarf some food so I could keep reading into the wee hours of the morning to finish because I literally COULD NOT STOP READING! However, it might be hard for me to review this book, because so much could be considered a spoiler! Ahhh! So take at least this much away – Do you like a good YA fantasy that is action packed and full of swoon? YES? Then READ this book!

First off, Anomaly’s cover couldn’t be any more on point than if the model’s t-shirt had some punny slogan on it! I saw this cover and read the synopsis and jumped at the chance to read this one. Secondly, this book has tons of geeky snark and plenty of teen angst and overbearing adults. There are some cool scientific references, which I loved! None of it was hard to follow, all explained so smoothly and still extremely interesting even for this nerd! Any and all Star Wars references make me an even bigger fan! To top it all off, tons of swooning and a few heat induced moments.

Josie and Reid were such wonderful, strong and fun characters. This isn’t a spoiler since the blurb kinda clues you in to all of this – with their unique abilities leads to endless possibilities as to what they can do with their powers and we start out on such a fun journey. We get lots of action during Josie’s training to use her powers and at the same time we get to see her engage in some real dangerous situations.

Josie had the perfect mix of all the right qualities of the best YA heroines. She was strong-willed, exceptional, moody and fell hard for her new hot hero, Reid! I was so thankful for the dual POVs especially for these lil’ snippets into each others thoughts! I know, what a sap I am to want to know more as they grow closer to each other and discovering the truths about one another. This story had a well-crafted narrative with an adorable, geeky & kickass heroine and a swoony, motocycle driving, badass hero – there is barely a thing amiss.

Clearly, I think this book is very creative and unique. I enjoyed the whole thing, but damn you, cliffhanger! Plus, any book that has me laughing and smiling like a loon while reading is definitely a book I have to recommend! I have no doubt that Schrodinger’s Consortium series is sure to be the next big YA series! Worth every bit of the 4.5/5 hearts! I am eagerly awaiting the next installment!
