Cover Crush: Smoke in the Sun (Flame in the Mist #2) by Renee Ahdieh
Smoke in the Sun, the second book in the Flame in the Mist duology, by Renee Ahdieh got a cover overhaul and I am just loving these rich vibrant colors! I love the imagery of the dragons and cherry blossoms. I mean look at those dragons, making a heart shape…aww yeah! I know people can get angry over cover changes, and I get it, but books need to sell off the shelf. I personally think this new version will speak to more readers from the cover alone. I happen to love the first book, and it’s cover, but I think the two together will still look great! When the cover reveal was released a few weeks ago on EW (go check out the excerpt!!), I was shocked because I hadn’t expected a cover style change, but I am so extremely happy that there is diverse representation on the cover! I can’t wait to get my hands on the final book in this duology (love duologies sooo much!), and who can be mad over a purple book! Bring on all the purple books for 2018, I mean it is the color of the year! Smoke in the Sun is releasing this summer, June 5th, so be sure to add it to your TBR to stay up to date!

The highly anticipated sequel to Flame in the Mist–an addictive, sumptuous finale that will leave readers breathless from the bestselling author of The Wrath and the Dawn
After Okami is captured in the Jukai forest, Mariko has no choice–to rescue him, she must return to Inako and face the dangers that have been waiting for her in the Heian Castle. She tricks her brother, Kenshin, and betrothed, Raiden, into thinking she was being held by the Black Clan against her will, playing the part of the dutiful bride-to-be to infiltrate the emperor’s ranks and uncover the truth behind the betrayal that almost left her dead.
With the wedding plans already underway, Mariko pretends to be consumed with her upcoming nuptials, all the while using her royal standing to peel back the layers of lies and deception surrounding the imperial court. But each secret she unfurls gives way to the next, ensnaring Mariko and Okami in a political scheme that threatens their honor, their love and the very safety of the empire.
