The Selection – TV Pilot Re-Worked by CW Network

theselectionThe CW Television Network recently announced that The Selection, based on the novel by Kiera Cass, is being revived for a second shot at Primetime. The script has been re-written by Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain (Dollhouse) who are also the executive producers. The Pilot originally ordered last year for what would have been this fall season was scrapped. Now in production again, no definitive wording if casting has been changed.

The Selection’s updated official log line – “Set 300 years in the future, an epic romance centering on a working class young woman chosen by lottery to participate in a competition with 25 other women for the Royal Prince’s hand to become the nation’s next queen. Balancing her loyalty to family, true love, and kingdom, she must attempt to remain true to herself as she navigates the cutthroat competition and palace intrigue, all while a budding rebellion threatens to topple the crown.”

The Elite (The Selection #2) will be released on April, 23 2013.
