Books On Our Radar: All the Crooked Saints by Maggie Stiefvater

All the Crooked Saints by Maggie Stiefvater is going to be a stand alone novel that I can’t wait to read. I am a huge fan, and I love finding other fans, because you feel like you have met a soulmate. Somehow this woman’s words just move me on some deeper level. It is really hard to explain, but when I read Maggie’s books it feels like more than just escapist reading, it feels groundbreaking. I know, I know that sounds dumb, but I am sure some of the readers out there understand me, even if it isn’t Maggie’s books, but another author’s. All the Crooked Saints is kind of a historical novel, as it is set in the 1960’s and one character runs a pirate radio station! I love that music is a big part of the narrative; YES, please! We have miracles and owls and music. I really don’t need much more. Here’s the thing, All the Crooked Saints is releasing on what is now deemed a magical day in the YA world, October 10th! Every single hyped book is coming out on that day, so be sure to add it to your TBR, because we can’t read all the books on that special release day, but if you are like me…this will be the one you choose!

Here is a thing everyone wants:
A miracle.

Here is a thing everyone fears:
What it takes to get one.

Any visitor to Bicho Raro, Colorado is likely to find a landscape of dark saints, forbidden love, scientific dreams, miracle-mad owls, estranged affections, one or two orphans, and a sky full of watchful desert stars.

At the heart of this place you will find the Soria family, who all have the ability to perform unusual miracles. And at the heart of this family are three cousins longing to change its future: Beatriz, the girl without feelings, who wants only to be free to examine her thoughts; Daniel, the Saint of Bicho Raro, who performs miracles for everyone but himself; and Joaquin, who spends his nights running a renegade radio station under the name Diablo Diablo.

They are all looking for a miracle. But the miracles of Bicho Raro are never quite what you expect.

Maggie Stiefvater has been called “a master storyteller” by USA Today and “wildly imaginative” by Entertainment Weekly. Now, with All the Crooked Saints, she gives us the extraordinary story of an extraordinary family, a masterful tale of love, fear, darkness, and redemption.
