Books On Our Radar: Brooding YA Hero: Becoming a Main Character (Almost) as Awesome as Me
by Carrie DiRisio
Brooding YA Hero: Becoming a Main Character (Almost) as Awesome as Me by Carrie DiRisio is absolutely going to be one of those books you just have to love! The cover was revealed on Bustle last week and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome! The twitter sensation full of snark and bite, is soon to be a romantic comedy book that deals with all the good and bad tropes of YA fiction. I can honestly say, the more broody the main character, the more I swoon. I don’t know if my brain is conditioned this way after being such an avid YA fan, but damn, it is really obvious I like the dark, mysterious, bad boys the most! So if you like to laugh at the ridiculousness of what is the brooding YA hero than this book is for you! Add it to your TBR to be ready for the October 3rd release!
Let’s Talk Tropes:
I usually love it when a trope is done right…or maybe even a little wrong. HA! My favorite romance trope is the enemies to lovers. I love the spite, and the roughness that usually comes out of this trope. There is just something about that line being blurred. It also helps that I almost always fall for the bad boy in books. In real life…no thanks. Which is why I think it is more appealing to me in fiction because I am not drawn to that type naturally. I think my biggest this is that most bad boys end up having this pure molten gold heart. They are damaged and the love will heal them just enough to be everything I want in a book boyfriend!
What’s your favorite romance trope? Tell me in the comments, I want to know!
