Welcome to Comic Crush Saturday, our bi-weekly feature focused on the graphic elements of the book world. Comics became a huge part of my life a few years ago when I started reviewing them (and comic related TV shows) on Forever Young Adult. I’ve maintained a pulllist through my local comic shop, Isotope Comics, and even got Kelly to start one ;). You’ll find mini-reviews, what we’ve read recently, and more so check it out!

For years, Tyrone Johnson and Tandy Bowen were the super hero duo called CLOAK AND DAGGER -- waging a citywide war on drugs, organized crime and corporate greed. In recent years, their crusade has taken them across the globe, fighting alongside Spider-Man, The X-Men and even The Avengers, and though they've drifted apart, a dangerous threat from their past has resurfaced -- one that will force Cloak and Dagger to reunite and come to terms with their truest feelings for one another and the past they share!
Oh, my god. The ending of this (mini)series left me completely gutted and there better be more! I am a new Cloak & Dagger fan but wiki’d my way into their world and I am completely hooked. Even though the ending isn’t what some longtime fans may be looking for, I appreciate shaking up the canon. The creative team took the adage of “what’s the worst thing that can happen to them?” and ran with it. Cloak and Dagger are two halves of a whole…And what happens when that changes? Some very interesting things, it turns out. Next up: Hulu series binge!
What You Should Check Out Now
G. Willow Wilson is a goddess in comics (and in general) and to have her writing Wonder Woman is a dream. Check out WW #60 and her article on justice in the NYTimes!

What We Can’t Wait For
Archie is one of my favorite series and it’s been on an extended break while the new creative team takes over. I could not be more excited about this creative team (and I loved the last one!). Issue 700 is a big deal and I am sure Riverdale is about to get rocked.
Best News of the Week
We all know Twilight changed the world of YA but did you know it also helped shape SDCC into the con it is today?
Nothing makes me happier than Kelly Thompson writing ALL OF THE THINGS and having her write Sabrina is the BEST news. You binged it on Netflix, right???

Hopefully you’ve seen the trailer for Detective Pikachu but this is by far the most (comics) relatable thing.
When you’re all like, “Can’t we combine our love of @VancityReynolds into just one thing?” And the Internet’s like, “We got you, fam.” pic.twitter.com/evv3WIynHo
