Flynn: At first we were almost strangers. But ever since I moved to New York, Amos was the one person I could count on. And together we were there for Poppy. (I mean, what kind of parents leave their kid to be raised by a nanny?) I just didn’t expect to fall for him—and I never expected him to leave us.

8 Ideas on How to Spend Your Layover:

I might be a weirdo but I actually like layovers, as long as it isn’t a mad dash to just change planes. Nor do I want to be stranded in a city for a few days, but I can see how Flynn & Amos make the most of their layover. For me, I like a good 2+ hours to explore the airport. So I am going to pepper you with my ideas of how to spend your airport layovers!

1. Find the local gift shop. I love looking at the city branded merchandise…even if I don’t have a need to buy anything.

2. Find a place to eat, have a drink, and dive back into that awesome book I’m reading.

3. Buy some bottled water and a snack for the next leg of my trip. Having food allergies means I can never eat airplane snacks.

4. I usually want to find a seat with a electric outlet or charger and has some comfort, but I also want to be around the hustle & bustle to do some serious people watching. Of course you then must share on social media what you are experiencing.

5. Clearly, I have to duck into the bookstore to see which of my favorite books are on the shelves.

6. Explore the airport (as far as you can go without security issues) I love the amazing art exhibits that are in most larger airports.

7. Most of the time I search for a Starbucks, have to have my soy chai tea latte, and then go find that comfy chair to read in once I have my tea.

8. If it was a long and grueling flight, I highly recommend finding the express spa, and getting that 30 minute neck & shoulder rub.
