ReMade Season 2 is releasing tomorrow November 15th and I am thrilled to help support this amazing sci-fi thriller! You may have noticed that I have been reviewing the first season of ReMade here on the blog & I am absolutely addicted to this serialized fiction and I am so excited to start season 2! For this Blog Tour I will be reviewing the final episodes of Season 1 and you can find all the series information below as well as a tour-wide giveaway for a season pass to Season 1!

REMADE Season 2 by Matthew Cody, Andrea Phillips, Gwenda Bond, E. C. Myers, and Amy Rose Capetta

Publication: November 15th, 2017; Serial Box
Formats: eBook & audiobook
Find it: Season 1 AmazonSerial Box

Serial fiction startup Serial Box has been featured from coast to coast including stories on NPRWiredBuzzFeed and i09. Serial Box was called “a godsend for a niche market of readers” by The Chicago Tribune.

ReMade is one of Serial Box’s first attempts at YA dystopian fiction, and it’s already making splashes.

In one moment the lives of twenty-three teenagers are forever changed, and it’s not just because they all happen to die. “ReMade” in a world they barely recognize – one with robots, space elevators, and unchecked jungle – they must work together to survive. They came from different places, backgrounds, and families, and now they might be the last people on earth. Lost meets The Maze Runner in exciting serial adventure. Season 2 finds the ReMades in search of the last of humanity on a perilous journey away from what’s left of the caretakers and Arcadia.

In true Serial Box fashion of trying to cross over many mediums, season 1 of ReMade has also been turned into a podcast available for free on all major podcast platforms (and one week early on TuneIn’s First Play program). The release of the podcast is meant to coincide with season 2. The podcast will release the final episode of season 1 on the same day as episode 1 of season 2 is released on the Serial Box platforms and wherever ebooks are sold.

Team-written by some of today’s most exciting authors, ReMade season 2 is brought to you by Matthew Cody (Super), Andrea Phillips (Revision), Gwenda Bond (Girl on a Wire), E. C. Myers (The Silence of Six), and Amy Rose Capetta (Echo After Echo).

Review:

All of my reviews of ReMade are more plot based than my normal reviews, so they are all a little more spoilery than usual. I recommend checking out my review for the first episode before reading on!

Mirror of Fate (ReMade #1.10) by Gwenda Bond

[book rating=4/5]

I am so thrilled to learn more about Seyah! I have been wanting her backstory this whole time, she was like the kickstarter in the first episode, but has been a mystery ever since. I wanted to know what was her motivating factor, I always wasn’t sure if I liked her or not, still not sure. I am filled with emotions. There is some serious subject matter in this episode, cultural expectations, racism, sexism, sexual identity, and I think it was handled well. For having such a diverse cast throughout this series, it was refreshing for some of these issues to be dealt with up front because in the past episodes it sometimes feels underhanded.

The big discovery in this episode as they are on their way to the city that is in their sights, are hot springs! Glorious hot springs which allow for some much needed bathes! There is also a mysterious caretaker who is bedazzled with tons of pieces of mirrors, and also seems to have been up against this tree, with vines grown throughout, for a long long time. I feel like this is very pertinent information. So I am filing it away, as I still need some serious answers!

Not only does Seyah come to some deeper understanding about herself, these events also sort of put Holden on notice. He has been struggling with his feelings and his responsibility for their deaths, which leads him to try and do right by her. Seyah just wants space from him, which is sad, but I get it, he feels guilty and she feels hate.

I am on the team, get to the city, and just hope and pray for answers, but we shall see. Something big is coming, and there are only five episodes left!

We’re Dead in this Ghost Town (ReMade #1.11) by E.C. Meyers

[book rating=5/5]

That title isn’t ominous or anything! So the group makes it to the city, and it seems pretty vacant. The group is still very split over decisions and working together. This dynamic is only going to hurt them in the long run. I know it is hard with so many headstrong personalities but they need a healthy dose of get your shit together to pull out of this alive!

One thing for sure, is that all of E.C. Meyers episodes have me on the edge of my seat! The writing is amazing, the tension is perfect, and the emotions are high. The pacing is perfect, and gives the readers just that specialness to make me freak the eff out over all the theories running through my head! I swear they were chosen for a reason, but all dying on the same day doesn’t play into that theory. AHHH WHY IS THIS ALL HAPPENING! 🙂

Holden and Loki together just click. They are completely different but it works. Plus this episode is compared to video games and it feels like a video game! Plus there are dragons! Dragons that they name Cumberbatches! So hilarious!

So within this city, where there are no actual people (so far), we know the city is working, they have seen the lights from miles away, and the moving sidewalks, the traffic lights, and all the doors and such still work! The mall is fascinating, and finally they can gear up and change clothes.

Plus being in the city just feels better and so much safer. I loved the technology and just the feel of this new discovery. Finally feels like we are starting to understand what’s going on! Or at least my theories are getting updated now my mind.

Definitely one of the better episodes so far!

Modern History (ReMade #1.12) by Carrie Harris

[book rating=4/5]

Well this episode definitely provides some really interesting speculation and finally solid facts about the world. So BIG spoiler – 100% all dead. So ‘ReMade’ is definitely about these poor souls being created for this future world. 100% well in the future. 10,000% still no clue why they are here or how they came to be here.

We get a lot more heartbreaking with Cole’s backstory. I mean what a good, decent, and loving man. My heart breaks in a thousand pieces for him.

I’m pretty positive that this series is going to continue to dole out some more tiny morsels – aka answers – but I can feel the big cliffhanger coming!

So dead, remade, and … a future without any more humans. That’s my guess, each ReMade has a purpose and a skill to help rebuild the human population.

About Seral Box:

A new kind of publishing company for a new age.

While technology has rapidly evolved, the way publishers and writers bring books to readers really hasn’t. Storytelling in TV has become more sophisticated and multilayered, podcasts have risen to mainstream media status—but ebooks are just books on digital devices, not easier, more fun, or more social than they were before.

Serial Box is here to change all of that: artfully blending together the best of series television and the convenience of ebooks and audiobooks to bring readers a new form of story telling. Releasing fiction serials over the course of 10-16 week seasons, Serial Box is about delivering addictive episodes straight to the user’s digital device to be read or listened to anytime, anywhere.

Taking a few pages from the world of television, Serial Box hires a team of a talented and award-winning writers to collaborate on each serial, pulling the best ideas to develop great characters and craft a narrative that captivates readers over the course of the season. A new ensemble of writers works on each series, so each will vary in genre and length, but they’ll always be entertaining page-turners that keep you wondering what will happen in next week’s episode.
