WARNING: This is a serial series of shorts, releasing once a month. Not for those who are opposed to cliffhangers.

Antythera is the new Earth.
Why?
Because that’s what President Baro, ruler of the planet, wants to call it.
And if you don’t agree, the President will have you Droned.

The world has become a much smaller place since the lower and middle classes have been converted to mindless servants.  Free will, granted only to the elite, is in jeopardy of complete extinction.

But Force Steele, son to one of the President’s highest ranking advisors, can’t live under the thumb of his controlling father, or the President, any longer. Force has dedicated himself to eradicating Droning, but when the President orders the Antidote Gear destroyed—the part of the machine that could free the drones by reversing the program that controls them—all is lost. Lacking necessary materials, there is literally no way in Force’s world to replace the one-of-a-kind gear.

Force’s only choice is to partner with shifty mechanic, Calerbius Brown, and embark on a risky mission that will take Force and his rag-tag crew across the lateral dimensions, where they must often steal materials—even from themselves—in order to fix their own dwindling world.

Spoiler-Free Review:

[book rating=4.5/5.0]

My initial thoughts when I finished The Dimension Thieves Episode 1 was that Misty Provencher cannot leave me hanging there! But this is a serial release, therefore, of course the author is going to leave us biting at the bit and highly anticipating the second episode!

I am a big fan of Misty Provencher’s other works and I was eagerly awaiting her newest release! Misty continues to break down boundaries and can write any genre she sets out to! Her writing style is smooth and intriguing. In The Dimension Thieves Episode 1, she weaves a world where only the elite have the luxury to think for themselves, but they better not voice any opinions that may go against what President Baro decrees. The homeless, criminals and anyone who dares to speak up are all droned to become mindless servants to the elite. They may have eliminated crime but they also removed free will from the masses.

In Episode 1 we are given a glimpse into what this world has become and even most of the elite classes have issues with the President’s decisions, but fear of being droned has kept the majority of them quiet.  We get a small intro to the main characters, why hello Force Steele, and what life is like for them, being elites, in a world where they don’t want to sit by idly, but take down the hierarchy from the inside–not a spoiler it’s in the blurb! Then comes the big cliffhanger–which I won’t spoil–but trust me you will get sucked into this story and YOU WILL WANT to know what happens next!

This new world is thought provoking like any good dystopian novel. How would you fare, what would you do? I know I would probably have been on the first list of droning, because I can never take orders without questioning. Bye-bye to my free will for sure! Thank goodness I am not in The Dimension Thieves!

Author Bio: Misty Provenchermisty

Misty Provencher is a long-term wife, mama, and author. The first two are a bit more recent, but Provencher’s writing roots date back to the hieroglyphics she left in her mother’s womb.

While Provencher can ride a motorcycle, knows how to Karate chop, and has learned enough French, Spanish, and Sign Language to get herself slapped, Misty’s life is actually just the ruse she uses to connect with people. She is totally enchanted with them and spends her days trying to translate the soul bouquets of her muses into words.

Misty Provencher lives in the Mitten. Knock on her internet blog door!
