Author Spotlight & Giveaway:
Jillian Dodd – The Keatyn Chronicles
BookCrushin is extremely honored to have been chosen to participate in a 13 day author spotlight & giveaway! 13 bloggers were chosen to participate in a blogger – author speed dating event on Saturday, May 3rd at the Washington, DC Author Signing Event hosted by Lalone Marketing, and sponsored by SMI Book Club. I got about 4 minutes with each of the 13 authors and asked the same 3 questions to help give everyone a fun insight about each author in attendance! I had so much fun getting to know each author and collecting signatures and swag!
Be sure to check out the event-wide giveaway – scroll all the way to the bottom to find out the schedule and try to check back every day until May 19th! Also, there were some blog specific giveaways so check out the previous posts (or click here). Check out today’s additional giveaway to win swag from the DC event! Jillian Dodd – 3 Questions
Jillian Dodd thinks her book crush is just really, really HOT! That hotness belongs to Jack F’n Carter from the The Perfect Game series by J. Sterling. Baseball jock, who is a stellar player on all of the fields (ha!), but is really just lost in the world of love. Plus he and has a fanatical following, I mean come on, he even has the best nickname ever, Jack F’n Carter! What’s not to love?
I love that Jillian chose The Nancy Drew Mystery series as the books she wish she’d written; they were such a huge part of my childhood collection. However, I just read a little bit about the ghostwriters involved for that series (first published in the 1930) and I bet the meager salary and loss of all rights might not be so glamorous these days. Jillian also is a huge fan of Sophie Kinsella’s Shopaholic Series and would have loved to write those books. I bet the ‘research’ would be the most fun!
Only a little bit of real life has made it into Jillian’s novels. Some of her past experiences and those affects have given some context to her characters and their adventures. As you might know from her bio, Jillian did have a boy propose to her in a bar!
The Keatyn Chronicles
Gossip Girl meets Hollywood in this steamy new series by That Boy author, Jillian Dodd.
Keatyn has everything she ever dreamed. Her life is following the script she wrote for the perfect high school experience. She’s popular, goes to the best parties, dates the hottest guy, and sits at the most-coveted lunch table.
She’s just not sure she wants it anymore.
Because, really, things aren’t all that perfect.
Her best friend is threatening to tell everyone her perfect relationship is a scam.
Her perfect boyfriend gets drunk at every party they go to.
It’s exhausting always trying to look and act perfect.
And, deep down, she isn’t sure if she has any true friends.
To add to the drama, her movie star mom has a creepy stalker.
A hot, older man flirts with her and tells her they should make a movie together.
And she’s crushing on an adorable surfer. Dating him would mean committing social suicide.
So she writes a new script. One where all the pieces of her life will come together in perfect harmony.
But little does she know, there’s someone who will do anything to make sure that doesn’t happen.
That Boy (That Boy #1)
You know, being friends with two cute boys does have its benefits.
There’s Danny. Danny is a golden boy in every way. He has dreamy blue eyes and blonde hair that always looks perfect, even when it’s windblown or been stuck under a football helmet. He’s the boy every girl crushes on. The boy I get into trouble with, the boy I fight with, the hot quarterback no girl can resist, not even me. Being with Danny is like being on an adventure. He has a bright, contagious smile and abs to die for. He’s pretty much irresistible.
Equally crush worthy is Phillip. Adorable, sweet Phillip, who I have known since birth. Phillip has dark hair, a perfect smile, brown eyes, and the sexiest voice I have ever heard. He’s the boy I talk to every night before I go to sleep. The boy who rescues me, the boy who can read my mind, the boy who is always there for me, the boy who tries to keep me out of trouble, the boy who irritatingly keeps getting hotter, and whose strong arms always seem to find their way around me. And when he gives me that grin, I can never say no.
One boy will give me my very first kiss.
One boy will teach me to make out.
One boy will take me to prom.
And finally, one boy will ask me to marry him.
They will both be my best friends.
But only one of them will be the boy I fall in love with.
Only one of them is That Boy.
Jillian Dodd has 2 more novels coming out this year in both series!
That Baby (That Boy #3) tentatively releasing in December 2014!
