Calling all Divergent Nation, Veronica Roth’s best selling book’s film adaptation has finally been given a release date so circle March 21, 2014 on your calendar. The dystopian book tells the tale of 16 year old Tris coming of age in a post apocalyptic world where people are separated into five ideological factions that control society.  Evan Daugherty best known for writing The Snow White and the Huntsmen script will be penning the screenplay. No word yet on a director or cast.  Are you excited for this adaptation? Who would be your dream cast? We will be throwing our hat into the casting ring in a later post.

  1. I am excited, and i hope that it can be an original movie and not just a dystopian copy cat. One of my favorite lines from Divergent about the Dauntless that Tris says:

“I have never been carried around by a large boy, or laughed until my stomach hurt at the dinner table, or listened to the clamor of a hundred people all talking at once. Peace is restrained; this is free.”

I can’t imagine who would play the characters, but i know my brain flies off the handle with casting choices these days…so i will take it in stride.
