TV Thoughts: The Passage – S1E4 – Whose Blood Is That?

Welcome to TV Thoughts! We are kicking off this new feature with our thoughts on the newly adapted book to TV show, The Passage. I actually read The Passage by Justin Cronin back when it was released in 2010. I did not however finish the series…you know what they say about big books, well, I am the opposite book nerd. But seriously, I started a YA focused blog, so reading adult books was not at the forefront of my priorities.

As always, spoilers are below.

The Passage – S1E8 – You Are Not That Girl Anymore – 3/4/19

Wolgast persuades Sykes and Lear into letting the group outside in order to get some exercise; Carter’s life is revealed through emotional flashbacks; Fanning gets more power over those inside Project Noah; the virals overpower the facility’s staff.

The Passage airs on FOX on Mondays at 9pm EST. Or buy Amazon

The Doctors are finally figuring out the rumors of the nightmares are finally connected to the test subjects aka the vampires. Amy continues to write notes to her next door test subject Anthony Carter. Which leads into his backstory. Those nightmare manipulations are definitely end-game. It is definitely how things get scary.

Some of these backstories pull at our heart strings and others you understand their death row sentence. However, are we learning the truth or are they manipulating the workers (and the viewers)?

This week we actually get to see the transformation from test subject to monster. AHHH. So if you were waiting, this is the moment.

As it has been since the beginning, Amy and Brad are the clear standouts. Their interactions are best part of the show. If it wasn’t for both of their personalities and their acting skills, this show may have been a failure. It needs to get more into the horror aspect and soon.

An epic and gripping tale of catastrophe and survival, The Passage is the story of Amy—abandoned by her mother at the age of six, pursued and then imprisoned by the shadowy figures behind a government experiment of apocalyptic proportions. But Special Agent Brad Wolgast, the lawman sent to track her down, is disarmed by the curiously quiet girl and risks everything to save her. As the experiment goes nightmarishly wrong, Wolgast secures her escape—but he can’t stop society’s collapse. And as Amy walks alone, across miles and decades, into a future dark with violence and despair, she is filled with the mysterious and terrifying knowledge that only she has the power to save the ruined world.
