TV Thoughts: The Passage – S1E6 – I Want to Know What You Taste Like
Welcome to TV Thoughts! We are kicking off this new feature with our thoughts on the newly adapted book to TV show, The Passage. I actually read The Passage by Justin Cronin back when it was released in 2010. I did not however finish the series…you know what they say about big books, well, I am the opposite book nerd. But seriously, I started a YA focused blog, so reading adult books was not at the forefront of my priorities.
As always, spoilers are below.
The Passage – S1E8 – You Are Not That Girl Anymore – 3/4/19
Well of course last week, Winston, a viral, escaped and so the crew, including Amy & Brad, go to try and neutralize the threat on the loose. Amy’s psychic connection is allowing her to see some images of Winston, so she is integral in finding him, even though Brad doesn’t want her involved.
Brad is afraid that Guilder (the head of the government project) is going to put Amy in harms way. Which makes sense since he has alternative motives for showing up at Project NOAH, especially when it comes to Amy. His ultimate plan is to militarize the virals into super soldiers. Spoiler alert…these creations cannot be controlled like that.
One big thing we learned in the latest episode is that if you kill the viral, all the little virals that have been created by the original will also die. So all the poor workers that Winston feasted on while on the run all immediately died when Brad put a lot of bullets into him. This is an even bigger deal, because back at the compound, Dr. Lear & Dr. Sykes are in cahoots to end the project while Guilder is out of the compound.
In the big twist, Lila, Brad’s ex-wife, has been taken into custody and is being transported to the compound, when they run into Winston. So now Lila and Brad are reunited with Amy up until they aren’t…ugh don’t trust that damn Guilder when he separates Amy and Brad.
The stakes have been raised, after 6 episodes, there is no turning back, what will be divulged in the last 4 episodes?!
Now we wait till next week…

An epic and gripping tale of catastrophe and survival, The Passage is the story of Amy—abandoned by her mother at the age of six, pursued and then imprisoned by the shadowy figures behind a government experiment of apocalyptic proportions. But Special Agent Brad Wolgast, the lawman sent to track her down, is disarmed by the curiously quiet girl and risks everything to save her. As the experiment goes nightmarishly wrong, Wolgast secures her escape—but he can’t stop society’s collapse. And as Amy walks alone, across miles and decades, into a future dark with violence and despair, she is filled with the mysterious and terrifying knowledge that only she has the power to save the ruined world.
